What a place they have in my experience
When I decided to contribute more to Mintos, I was looking to increase the income I received every month. Having found that withdrawing money was simple to me gave me confidence to follow. That’s the reason I’ve told you about contributions from my account.
In the observation of 2 November 2026, loans are worth €32,459.89 and represent 97.4 % of my Mintos account. That concentration explains why I follow their payments and delays more closely than the small positions.
In the Journal I analyse the weight of loans and concentrations by country and lending company.
The configuration I checked on 23 October
When viewed on 23 October, Core Loans and the legacy “Alto rendimiento” portfolio appeared active. Their payments received did not have the same destination:
| Portfolio | Observed status | Reinvestment setting shown |
|---|---|---|
| Core Loans | Active | “All”: principal and interest |
| Alto rendimiento | Active | “Principal” |
| Custom Loans | No active portfolios | “Disabled” |
Core Loans was set to reinvest all payments received; Alto rendimiento, only principal. I therefore do not assume that interest in the statement stayed available for withdrawal. These are the settings I saw on 23 October, not a new settings check on 2 November 2026.
What is a loan, explained bluntly
A person or a company needs money and an entity lends it to them. In exchange, they undertake to return it on a few dates and pay interest. The money they have to return is called main; interest is the price of using it during that time.
Imagine a loan to buy a car. Each fee can include a portion of the money borrowed and a portion of interest. In other loans, the principal is returned at the end. That’s why the payment schedule matters: two investments with the same interest rate can return the money to you at different rates.
In Mintos there are personal loans, for vehicles, for companies, bill financing and other categories. They change the destination of money, guarantees and calendar. A loan has a vehicle or property as collateral does not mean that recovering money is immediate. Types of loans in official aid.
In Mintos purchases Notes backed by loans
The lender grants and manages the loans. You invest through Notes: securities issued by a special purpose entity of the Mintos group and backed by those loans. A series groups between 6 and 20 loans with similar characteristics; your investment is proportionally involved in the payments of all of them. You do not choose a specific person and send him the money directly. What are the Notes?.
THE LEST, IT HAPPENED TO PASS
From the loan to your payments.
- 01
The original loan
The entity lends money to the customer and agrees how it will return it.
- 02
The Notes series
The issuer creates securities backed by a group of loans.
- 03
Your investment
You buy a part of that series through Mintos.

Principal and interests
Loan payments reach investors in proportion.
payments depend on the payments of loans and on the fulfilment by institutions of their obligations. Source: Note reimbursement.
Before investing, you can review the series' statement, its loans and calendars, the brochure and the final terms. Having several loans within a series divides the exposure between borrowers, but there are still risks linked to the institution, the country and the investment structure.
How interest is generated and how you collect it
The interest rate you see is usually expressed per year. An annual 10 % does not mean to collect a 10 % each month. Interest depends on the capital that remains invested and the days elapsed; the time of collection depends on the schedule and the payments arrive.
AN EXAMPLE TO UNDERSTAND IT
100 € for 30 days at 10 % per year
If the 100 € remain invested for 30 days, with the daily calculation explained by Mintos they would generate approximately Gross interest 0.83 €.
100 € × 30 days × 10 % 360 0.83 €
If you are then returned 50 € of principal, the following calculation is made on the remaining 50 €. The money you have been returned is your capital; the interest is the income of the investment.
Illustrative example, before fees and taxes and without delay. 10 % is not an offer or a forecast for your account. Source: calculation of Mintos’ interest.
The payments of a series follow the loans that support it. There may be payments on different days, early repayments or delays. So, even if I look for income every month, a loan portfolio does not amount to a payroll with a fixed amount. How Reimbursements Come.
The company behind it also matters.
To understand what can happen with my money, I need to look at who is behind the loans. If a client stops paying, there is a problem with that loan. If the lender institution stops transferring the payments or cannot meet the repurchase, the problem can reach many investments at once. Risks of the lending institution.
The entity that grants the loan, the one that manages its payments and the one that responds to the repurchase can be different companies. It is appropriate to identify each in the documents of the Notes: a known brand or an attractive interest rate do not explain by themselves who has to pay or where that money will come from.
How to read the Mintos Risk Score
Mintos assigns Notes a score of 1 to 10: the higher, the lower the risk according to your assessment. It is a starting point for reviewing the investment. A 8 does not mean a 80% probability of receiving payment, or allow you to calculate how much principal you could lose. The scale has been checked against the official definition on 2 November 2026.
THE SCALE OF Mintos
What every rank means.
- Low risk
- 7.5–10.0
- Average risk
- 4.5–7.4
- High risk
- 1.0–4.4

The evaluation is prepared by Mintos himself. The platform warns that is not a regulated credit rating. In addition, it summarizes several aspects: two investments with a similar note may have different weaknesses. To understand them, you have to open the breakdown.
WITHIN THE PUNCTION
Four aspects that weigh differently.
- Portfolio quality 40 %
- How loans behave: late payments, losses, history and product characteristics.
- Collection management 25 %
- The ability of the manager to manage loans, collect and report.
- Solidity of the buyback 25 %
- If the obliged undertaking has capital, liquidity and financing to respond.
- Cooperation structure 10 %
- Legal access to payments and the chances of recovering money.
The percentages are the weights in the Mintos methodology. Source: partial scores.
The repurchase deserves special attention. An entity may have granted loans that are paying, but need liquidity to buy back those that are delayed. Written obligation depends on its ability to fulfill it. Before assuming that it protects me, I need to know which company responds and how financially it is.
What to check in addition to the note
A review of the entity may start with these questions. They serve to sort the information; responding to them does not guarantee the outcome of the investment.
- Who answers. It identifies the company it originates, the company it manages and the company that has to buy back; it checks whether there is a guarantee of the group and what its scope is.
- When are your accounts? Look at the period, if they are audited and the evolution of profits, capital and debt. A figure from two years ago leaves questions about the current situation.
- How it is financed and paid. Review your cash, your upcoming obligations and your access to finance. Having accounting benefits and being able to face a payment today are different issues.
- What about loans? It follows late payments, outstanding payments and changes in portfolio quality. An isolated state needs context and date.
- In which countries and currencies it operates. Regulation, economy or local currency can affect the entity, even if you buy Notes in euros.
- How much you depend on her. Add your exposure between portfolios and check whether several entities belong to the same group or share a guarantor.
The file of each entity in Mintos, its financial reports and the Notes documents help to respond. It is appropriate to contrast the company’s comments with the evolution of payments and the Mintos risk updates.
Many loans can continue to depend on a single company
Imagine 1,000 € distributed in ten sets of Notes of 100 €, all linked to the same entity. There are different loans and borrowers, but the 1,000 € remain exposed to that company. It is an illustrative example, not the distribution of my account.
Sharing between entities, groups and countries can reduce this concentration. Enterprises in the same group can share financing or a repurchase obligation, so having different brands can overstate diversification. Economic problems affecting several entities can also coincide. Diversification and its limits.
Score, status and date: three things to look at together
Mintos reviews the scores quarterly and can change them earlier if there are important news. A drop deserves to read what has worsened and since when. Keep the date of the note next to the date of the accounts and the latest releases. Update frequency.
- Let's go. It describes the activity of the entity in Mintos. It may have a high or low score; it does not certify that the risk is low.
- Suspended (S). The related investments and sales in the main and secondary markets are stopped. Follow the updates of the case.
- In default (D). Nor can it be invested or sold. The state meets Mintos’ default criteria and does not allow the amount to be recovered to be anticipated.
- Score Withdrawn (SW). The score is withdrawn: there may be a lack of information, inactivity, or suspension or default. The Spanish-language website also uses "Not available score" (ND). You have to read the cause; do not treat it as a zero note or assume that it always means insolvency.
Sources: entity statements and score withdrawn. In the delays of my account I follow amounts and states with their date. Distribution by entity and their valuations need their own cut before comparing them.
Three Ways to Build Your Loan Portfolio
You can leave the selection to a predefined portfolio, automate your own rules or choose the series one by one. The difference is how much you decide and how much selection work you assume.
| Modality | Who selects | What you can control |
|---|---|---|
| Core Loans | Mintos, with predefined rules. | How much you assign, when you pause and the destination of the payments. Filters and diversification are not edited. |
| Custom Loans | The portfolio buys according to your criteria. | Investment filters, portfolio objective and diversification adjustments, depending on the modality. |
| Manual investment | You choose every series of Notes. | What purchases and how much you spend on each investment, in the main or secondary market. |
Slide the table to view all columns.
Sources: Core Loans criteria, Custom Loans e manual investment. You can combine modalities, as long as they are available for your profile according to Mintos evaluation.
Core Loans: Knowing the rules you accept
Core Loans automates selection and diversification. The criteria in the documentation consulted include a Mintos Risk Score from 3.5 to 10, a buyback obligation and a 15 % limit for Notes under one prospectus. That range includes scores Mintos classifies as high risk: that the portfolio is automatic does not mean that everything you buy has low risk. You cannot change their diversification to exclude a country or impose your own distribution. What allows Core Loans to change.
Custom Loans: Set Your Own Conditions
Custom Loans allows a more personalized selection to be automated. The documentation consulted describes filters for Mintos Risk Score, loan type, country, interest and term. It also retains a "Advanced" option for a more detailed configuration. New entities that meet your filters can be automatically incorporated: it is important to keep reviewing what the portfolio is buying. Custom Loans Filters and Modalities.
- Interest. Define the rank you accept. A higher rate deserves to review what risk you are taking, in addition to how much you could charge.
- Time frame. It takes the expected time of the investment. A short maturity does not prevent delays.
- Country and type of loan. They allow you to define where and in what activities you want to be exposed.
- Mintos Risk Score. It is Mintos’ risk assessment: 10 indicates lower risk and 1, higher risk. It does not guarantee recovery. How It's Calculated.
- Objective and diversification. At Custom Loans, the target limits how much that portfolio invests. By changing it, it also reviews the deal, especially in the advanced configuration. Core Loans no longer has that goal: it depends on the money you charge. Portfolio objective.
For example, you can explore what offer is left by limiting country, time and interest, and looking at how many entities enter the selection. If there are hardly any matches left, the money can wait without investing. Forced larger filters just to place it also changes the exposure you have chosen. It is an example of how to read the filters, not my account settings.
How to get those decisions into the configuration
- Choose the modality from Loans. When creating a portfolio you can choose Core Loans or Custom Loans; the manual selection has its own search.
- If you choose Custom Loans, define your criteria. Check which investments match and how diversification is left before activation. In Advanced, check also the minimum per investment and the distribution parameters.
- Decide how much you can invest. Adjust the Custom Loans target and assign cash to the portfolio. If you have multiple Custom Loans, their priorities matter because they share cash.
- Choose the destination of the payments. Set up "Renders" and, if you want to contribute periodically, the reload plan. One function selects investments; the other assigns them money.
The options available depend on your profile and the modality. Sources: create a portfolio, coincidences and minima and guide to reading balances and shares.
Manual investment: choose each purchase
In manual you decide which series to buy, review your documents and distribute the amount yourself. The main market offers investments that are published in Mintos; in secondary purchases positions that other investors sell. Choosing a series manually continues to expose your underlying loans, not to a single loan chosen within it.
It is also up to you to follow the schedule, the payments and the concentration of what you buy. The three modalities have risk: automating the selection saves tasks, but does not ensure either the interest announced or the return of capital.
Providing, reinvesting or collecting: these are different decisions
Entering money from the bank takes it to Mintos’ available cash. For Core Loans or Custom Loans to invest, you must assign it to your portfolio cash, with a timely reload or a periodical plan. Custom Loans portfolios share cash and distribute it according to their priorities and adjustments. How Cash Works.
The 'Renders' adjustment allows you to choose what to do with future Core Loans and Custom Loans payments:
- Reinvest everything: both the principal returned and the interests are reinvested.
- Reinvest principal: capital is reinvested and interest goes to available cash.
- Deactivated: principal and interest go to available cash.
If you're looking for an extra income, you're interested in understanding the second option; if you reinvest interest, you can explore its effect on the Composite interest calculator. Simulation depends on your assumptions and does not guarantee that growth. Also check your recharge plans: a daily one could bring back the interests you had just separated to the portfolio. payments and costs of my history
| Movement in Mintos | Amount |
|---|---|
| Interest received | 4,451.07 € |
| Income from interest received on the repurchase of the loan | 573.07 € |
| Interest income from late payments | 46.43 € |
| Commission by loan portfolios | -171.00 € |
Regular interest, buybacks and late payments retain their categories. Fees are an outflow. The records start in January 2025 and do not include a breakdown of the secondary-market result.
The part I'm still waiting for
On 2 November 2026, the dashboard shows €330.87 of pending payments and €3,401.68 of “Overdue” funds. I keep them separate from late loan instalments: these are different classifications, and I have not checked whether they can be added without overlap.
The €32,459.89 of loans includes €28,655.99 invested, €71.34 of portfolio cash and the two pending amounts above. The money awaiting payment already forms part of that value; adding it again would inflate the account. The displayed items leave a one-cent rounding difference.
In my delay tracking I compare observations of Nera Capital and MFO FintechFinance from October to 2 November 2026. They show what changed in the balances without treating every change as a loss or a payment received.
payments are a part of the story
My personal opinion, shared on 2 November 2026, is that loans are working very well. Even so, I am somewhat concerned about the amounts building up in delays. That concern is part of my experience, alongside the interest I have actually received.
Being able to withdraw cash gave me confidence to contribute more. The recent €150 withdrawal is another movement I can document in the withdrawals article; it does not show that the rest of the portfolio is immediately available.
Frequently Asked Questions about Mintos Loans
How much money can I start with?
Mintos indicates a minimum investment of 50 € per Note series. That is the investment unit described for a series; before activating an automatic portfolio it reviews its conditions and the amounts it displays. Investing a small amount allows you to know the operation, but does not eliminate the risk. Notes minimum.
Can I have Core Loans and Custom Loans at once?
Yes, Mintos allows you to combine Core Loans, Custom Loans and manual investment. Its availability depends on your suitability and convenience assessment. By combining them, check the total exposure: two portfolios can invest in the same entities. Merge modalities and availability according to your profile.
Why do I have money that's not being invested?
Cash may be missing in the portfolio, being paused, having reached your goal in Custom Loans or not finding investments that meet your filters. There may also be a minimum amount higher than the balance or a limit for automated portfolios. Look at matches and status before changing criteria. Causes explained by Mintos.
Am I gonna charge the same amount every month?
There is no guaranteed fixed monthly income. Payments depend on the loan schedule, outstanding capital and possible delays or write-offs. One month may concentrate payments corresponding to other periods. my monthly balance sheets I follow what has really come, with its date and its costs.
Does the obligation to buy back guarantee my money?
It does not guarantee that you will recover the capital. In Notes with this obligation, the institution must repurchase the loan if the delay exceeds 60 days, for the principal outstanding and accrued interest. If it cannot meet, investors may not receive those funds. The capacity of the institution matters as much as the written obligation. Scope of repurchase.
A Mintos Risk Score of 8 means a 80 % of security?
No. It is an evaluation score on a scale of 1 to 10; it is not a probability of collecting or a guarantee of capital. Look at its four components, date and financial information of the companies involved. How to interpret the note.
What minimum score should I choose?
There is no threshold that eliminates risk or serves for everyone. According to Mintos’s ranking, the low range starts at 7.5, but there may also be losses. A more demanding filter reduces the matching offer and can change diversification. Check the overall result, the time frame, and how much you can assume it will be immobilized.
What does it mean that an entity has SW or ND?
The score is withdrawn or unavailable. Information, inactivity, suspension or default may be missing. Read the current cause and communiqués before drawing conclusions; the code alone does not quantify a loss. Score and states.
Does having many Notes mean being well diversified?
You have to see which entities and groups they depend on. Many series of a single company distribute loans, but they keep exposure to that company. Also important are the country, the shared guarantors and the coincidences between your portfolios. What to review in the cast.
Can I get the money out before maturity?
Core Loans first uses portfolio cash and can sell investments to complete withdrawal. At Custom Loans, withdraw only frees the cash from the portfolio; to get more you can wait for payments or try to sell manually on the secondary market. Outstanding, late or recovering amounts may still be blocked. Then you need to request further shipment to the bank. Withdrawn by modality, in English and explanation of the different steps.
The secondary market allows me to sell right away?
Posting a sale does not mean that there is a buyer. You can offer the position at a discount, at the same price or at a premium, but you must be eligible and another investor must acquire it. Some positions cannot be sold. Mintos indicates a commission of 0.85 % on the final selling price. Secondary market conditions.
Pause a wallet returns all my money?
No. It stops new investments; the already invested follows its schedule. Check separately the recharge plans and the destination of the payments so that the money you want to reserve will not be invested again. What makes the investment pause.
What fees should I take into account?
In the revised aid on 8 October of 2026, Core Loans has a management commission of 0.39 % per year and Custom Loans of 0.29 % per year. Selling at secondary has its own charge and other costs may exist, such as currency exchange or recovery. These current rates are not a reconstruction of what I paid in each month. Official rates and my historical fees.
Is it also necessary to declare interests in Spain?
If you are a tax resident in Spain, the interest of the Notes is part of the income of the capital furniture on the basis of the savings. Mintos’ withholding does not solve the Spanish tax alone. The obligation to present the income depends on the whole of your income and the applicable conditions. costs and income I explain the difference and link the regulations.
What configuration does Javier use?
On 23 October 2026, I saw Core Loans active with reinvestment set to “All” and the legacy Alto rendimiento portfolio active with reinvestment set to “Principal”. Custom Loans showed no active portfolios and reinvestment disabled. That is the configuration observed that day; it does not establish the settings throughout the historical record. The 97.4 % weight relates to the observation of 2 November 2026 and my Mintos account, not my entire wealth. This guide’s filter examples do not describe my personal filters.
How I read my loans as a whole
The dashboard’s weighted average rate is 10.77 % in the observation of 2 November 2026. It describes the interest on the investments covered by that view; it is not the net annual return I have achieved. Measuring that also requires the dates of contributions and withdrawals, costs, losses and valuations.
It also shows an average term of 29 months and 15 days and a diversification score of 46 %, labelled “Moderate”. The term is not an exit date for the whole portfolio, and the score is not a probability of recovering capital.
The statements from January 2025 through 2 November 2026 record €5,074.70 of interest across all products, with fees and withholding taxes separate. The results page brings together those movements and the current dashboard. Statements before 2025 and a breakdown of the secondary-market result are still needed to calculate the outcome of my entire relationship with Mintos.
